Without them ecosystems won’t work:A world without bees, bumblebees or butterflies would not only result in a catastrophe for nature but also for humankind. If there are no longer pollinating insects in an ecosystem, a vicious circle will start: without pollinators, there will be no plants; without plants, there will be no seeds or fruits. Without seeds or fruits, there will be no food for birds or bugs. And if they die, there won’t be any food for larger predators, either.
The decline of pollinating insects affects us all:Most of our wild flowers cannot produce seeds without pollinating insects and are therefore endangered. The decline of species of bees can have a dramatic impact on biological diversity as a whole and on our food production. Roughly 40% of all food we eat currently depends on the pollination by wild bees. And especially those wild bees are in danger! In Germany there are 561 different species of wild bees, more than half of which, according to the Red List, are declining in population or have already gone extinct.
What you can do against it:
Plant living spaces for bees, bumblebees and butterflies. As an addition to our trees, we create spaces for wildflower meadows and nectar sources for bees on our land. This way honey bees and wild bees, bumblebees and butterflies can find nectar for nutrition and a great variety of flowering plants: the ideal environment for their reproduction.
